An Angel Among Us

The other day I was in the Starbucks associated with Barnes and Nobles.  The next day a friend came up to me at work and asked if I had been there.  I was shocked she knew, but then she explained.

Her daughter (in her early 20s...whom I have never met) works at Starbucks.  She went home the evening we had been there and had the following conversation with her mom.

daughter... Mom, I saw an angel today.

mom... Really, how do you know?

daughter... I was at work when a mom came in with her boys.  I looked at one of them and just knew he was an angel walking here on earth.  When you looked at his face, you could see it in his eyes.  He had the perfect nose and features.  I know in my heart he was an angel, mom.

mom... Tell me more about him.

daughter goes on to describe the child.

mom... That's my friends son.  I just know it is.

daughter... I wanted to talk to him so badly and give him a hug, but he seemed so shy.

mom... Next time tell him who you are and go for it.  He won't mind I promise.

daughter... I will cause it isn't often you get to see be in the presence of a real angel.  He was perfect, mom, really.

I had to fight back tears when my friends was relaying the conversation to me.  Not only did the thought that someone truly believed my little JJ to be an angel send my heart soaring, but the thought that a girl in her 20s could still contain such untainted innocence... I was was just speechless.

... sigh ...

I will remember that conversation for the rest of my life.

  1. I think sometimes me, you, or our children plant faith seeds from God in other people unawares! Your son did that just by being who God created him to be - so beautiful! And, then, that blessing came back and touched you, encouraging you, filling you up! What a perfect chain of moments!!!!

See - Good does come out of Starbucks! LOL

    Be blessed this week!
